Where are my tax return data files stored?
Posted by Tim Feeney on 17 February 2013 04:10 PM

TaxTron by default saves your tax return files on computer under the current users Documents folder.

In Windows XP the location is "My Documents\TaxTron\Taxpilot\2014\T14"

In Windows Vista, 7 and 8 the location is "Documents\TaxTron\201\T14"

You can change the Default location where files are saved by clicking on the Tools menu and selecting Preferences, when the preferences window opens click on the Files tab.

You are free to place the files anywhere you want. The tax returns are never transmitted to TaxTron and we suggest that you back up data to protect it from any potential hardware or software problems.
